FACEBOOK!
I was on Facebook this week! Haven't been on as much as i was, but i started playing this game Song Pop. I absolutely love this game. I was so surprised at the number of songs that i knew the names of and from so many different genres. My kids even like playing this game. Of some of the games on Facebook, I do believe that this is one of the better one's.

Numb!!!
This week i have had a range of emotions, problems, and situations to arise. I had to contend with the loss of a family member. I have defiantly had better weeks. I didn't not interact with anyone much this week as i just wanted to be at home and away from everything the world had going on. So for my pop culture this week i have been numb to it all. sorry no exciting stories from me this week.

LESSONS
Thus far this semester i have i have found that i need to work on my time management. I'm so use to being on the go with my kids that i don't make time for anything else. My writing has surely gotten a little better from the previous classes i have taken just from the first grade on my paper. I have many areas to improve in and as the semester goes on and i break out of my QUIET SHELL i know that i will.

NOTHING!!!
This week was so very empty on the pop culture seen for me. I found myself not doing much of anything as far as t.v., music, or even being on the computer. The only time I logged on was to post this blog for today and do my paper during the week. I guess I just needed a break from the wonderful world of technology for a while! I enjoyed it!

NOT LIKE THE GOOD OL DAYS!
This week has been a little all over everywhere for me. I had my niece with me a few days this week and she is big in to the hip hop and rap music. We were riding in the car and she plugged up her phone and begins to play the music on it. I so thought i was going to crash from the sound coming through my speakers. I could hardly understand what they were saying. Of course I asked her what they were saying and she told me. My mouth fell open. Sex, lies, drama, demoralizing women is all I got from all the songs she played. I could no longer take it. I snapped! I told her about the music i grew up on and of course i had to go dig out some of collection. I grew up listening to music that painted a picture of happiness and love. Even though I am an 80's baby, the music i listened to as a child was from the 70's. I told my niece that most of the music she is listening to, the beats and hooks came form back then and have just been remade and changed to fit today's generation. She has a better understanding and respect for music since the day of our OL SCHOOL MUSIC JAM SESSION! I have successfully opened her eyes to another era of music and in the last 2 days she has called and asked for some suggestions on good wholesome music to add to her playlist. SCORE ONE FOR THE OL SCHOOL AUNTIE!!!

Crap draft
I think that Lamont's advice is very on point. I agree with her on the point that a crap first draft makes for an awesome second draft because it leaves room for improvement. I have always be one to have a chicken scratch first draft where all my thoughts are all over the place. By the time i finish the paper or what ever i am writing it is a work of art.

ABC ABC...(in my Elmo voice)
My pop culture experience for the week was the ABC's. My 3 year old loves Elmo and wants to watch anything to do with Elmo. We have been working on her preschool prep for school next year and we started singing the ABC's. I taught her the traditional ABC song. Well apparently my 10yr old has taught her several different versions of the song as well as singing the alphabet backwards which blew me away. So in mid song she stops me and says "Mommie that's not right" and begins to sing it in a different tune ( Elmo and India Arie version with sound affects and all lol). I say ok so we sing it like Elmo for 3 days and then she come wit the super why version from PBS kids channel which is a fast pace song. I am truly amazed at what children absorb in their minds and so quickly. I wish i still had the ability to learn that quickly!
