NOT LIKE THE GOOD OL DAYS!
This week has been a little all over everywhere for me. I had my niece with me a few days this week and she is big in to the hip hop and rap music. We were riding in the car and she plugged up her phone and begins to play the music on it. I so thought i was going to crash from the sound coming through my speakers. I could hardly understand what they were saying. Of course I asked her what they were saying and she told me. My mouth fell open. Sex, lies, drama, demoralizing women is all I got from all the songs she played. I could no longer take it. I snapped! I told her about the music i grew up on and of course i had to go dig out some of collection. I grew up listening to music that painted a picture of happiness and love. Even though I am an 80's baby, the music i listened to as a child was from the 70's. I told my niece that most of the music she is listening to, the beats and hooks came form back then and have just been remade and changed to fit today's generation. She has a better understanding and respect for music since the day of our OL SCHOOL MUSIC JAM SESSION! I have successfully opened her eyes to another era of music and in the last 2 days she has called and asked for some suggestions on good wholesome music to add to her playlist. SCORE ONE FOR THE OL SCHOOL AUNTIE!!!

Go girl! I love the beats to a lot of music students the tradition students listen to but don't like the words either. Wish Christian music would kick it up a notch and provide comparable beats.
